Rail, land, air and water transportation available in Niagara: Via Rail trains connect twice a day between Niagara Falls and St. Catharines with connections to Toronto, Hamilton and on to other parts of Ontario and Canada. They go south to the United States at Niagara Falls and link with Amtrak. Past attempts have been made to offer hovercraft and passenger vessels to commute by water to Toronto, but without sustainable success. Niagara citizens use Toronto’s Pearson International Airport, Buffalo International Airport or Hamilton International Airport. Smaller airports are located in Niagara-on-The-Lake (St. Catharines/Niagara District Airport) and in Wellandport (Welland/Port Colborne Airport). Niagara District airport is being upgraded to handle more business flights.
