Employment Services: 

There are several “for profit” and government-funded employment service organizations in Niagara. Organizations that are funded by the Ministry of Training Colleges and Universities (MTCU) are part of Employment Ontario.   There are nine organizations in Niagara that are part of Employment Ontario.  Each organization offers a one-stop approach to job seekers and employers by providing access to a full range of employment services including:

  • Job search;
  • Job matching, placements and incentives;
  • Job retention;
  • Client service planning and coordination; and
  • Resources and information for individuals, employers and communities.

The Ontario Ministry of Community and Social Services (MCSS) provides funding to support individuals in receipt of Ontario Works and Ontario Disability Support Program with finding and maintaining employment.  Niagara Region, Community Services delivers the Ontario Works program and MCSS delivers the Ontario Disability Support Program.  Both programs work in partnership with the agencies that provide service under the Employment Ontario model to ensure that Ontario Works and Ontario Disability Support program participants have access to as wide a range of services as possible.
